Experienced urban designer / master planning Architect. LDK is recruiting for a prestigious Architect firm in Canterbury seeking an experienced Urban Designer / Master Planning Architect with great communication skills, and proven experience post Part 3 working on large scale residential developments to work in their office in Canterbury.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT: Our client is an award winning architectural practice with a broad range of master planning, heritage consultancy and architectural services across Residential, Heritage, Leisure, Hospitality and Education sectors in and around Kent and beyond. They have been established for over 90 years, with a talented team of over 50 people working from their studios in Canterbury and Harpenden.

ROLE OVERVIEW: Our Client is seeking a talented and motivated Architect with around 3-5 years post-graduation experience to join their team in Canterbury to contribute to their continued success within the residential sector. You should have a strong track record in working on residential master planning and ideally have success working on projects with national house building Clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working under a Partner and Associate, you will work as a design lead within a team to deliver high quality projects.
  • Work with Part I and II architectural assistants to ensure work is accurate and completed to deadlines.
  • Bring your skills as a communicator and designer to help lead on presentations and production of planning packages for national house builders and local developers in the residential sectors.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the residential sector.
  • Excellent design skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the Planning policies relating to residential development.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience of running projects with a team of Part 1 and 2 Architects to assist.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office applications and Adobe programmes such as InDesign and Photoshop (Sketchup and Revit experience are an advantage).

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic team.
  • Experience of delivering RIBA Stage 0 through 3/4 projects for major house building clients.
