LDK is recruiting for a prestigious Architect Firm in Canterbury seeking an Architect/Architectural Technician with 3-5 years post-grad experience to join their team. The client is an award-winning architectural practice with a broad range of master planning, heritage consultancy and principal designer services across Residential, Heritage, Leisure and Hospitality and Education sectors in and around Kent and beyond. They have been established for over 90 years, with a talented team of over 50 people working from their studios in Canterbury and Harpenden.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Architect or Architectural Technician with around 3-5 years post-graduation experience to join our team in Canterbury to contribute to our continued success within the residential sector. You should have a strong understanding of Building Regulations and be proficient in the use of AutoCAD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical expertise and support to the design team.
  • Develop detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with current regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate in a team-oriented environment to deliver high-quality designs.
  • Coordinate the design packages produced by the wider design team.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the residential sector.
  • Excellent design skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the Building Regulations.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience of running projects through all RIBA work stages.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office applications is essential with InDesign, Photoshop, Sketchup and Revit experience an advantage.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic team.
  • Experience of delivering RIBA Stage 4 through 6 projects for major house building clients.
