About the Role

Senex Recruitment is working with a successful and well-established manufacturing and industrial engineering business near Aylesham, Kent, seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support production reliability, minimise downtime and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Applications are welcome from electrically biased, multi-skilled or mechanically biased engineers, provided they have some experience in electrical maintenance such as the basic use of electrical test meters and motor connections as a minimum. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced production environment on a structured continental shift pattern covering both days and nights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled planned preventative maintenance to maintain equipment performance and reduce unplanned downtime
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently using a methodical approach
  • Support production teams to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently
  • Work with electrical systems including motors, sensors, control panels and test equipment
  • Assist with fault finding and improvements on PLC-controlled systems and instrumentation where applicable
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to improving engineering processes
  • Support reliability improvements, upgrades and site engineering projects
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety and compliance standards

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience within a manufacturing or production maintenance environment
  • Electrical competence as a minimum, including use of test meters and motor connections
  • 18th Edition desirable but not essential if experience is strong
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Experience working on mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment such as motors, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Exposure to PLCs, automation or instrumentation is advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-skilled engineering team

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary up to Β£54,000 plus overtime opportunities
  • Continental shift pattern providing regular extended time off
