Reporting to our Head Housekeeper, you will help oversee the housekeeping operation at our stunning exclusive-use wedding and events venue in the heart of Lewes, East Sussex, which features 30 guest bedrooms. Working closely with the Head Housekeeper and the wider team, you will play a key role in ensuring the venue is always guest-ready, wedding-perfect and maintained to the highest standards. This is a practical, front-line role that would suit someone who enjoys being part of the action, takes ownership of their work and is passionate about creating immaculate spaces for our couples and guests.
This role would suit you if:
- You have exceptionally high standards and expect the same from those around you
- You are confident supervising, motivating and supporting a team
- You are organised, proactive and able to prioritise effectively
- You remain calm under pressure and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- You take pride in attention to detail and delivering a consistently outstanding guest experience
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the Head Housekeeper with the day-to-day running of the housekeeping department
- Supervising a small team of housekeeping staff to ensure all tasks are completed on time and to the required standard
- Allocating daily tasks and managing workloads across the team
- Ensuring all guest bedrooms, public areas and venue spaces meet our high quality standards
- Training, supporting and developing new team members
- Conducting quality checks and maintaining excellent presentation throughout the venue
- Leading by example through your own work ethic, attention to detail and commitment to standards
- Organising your team daily to ensure all work is completed efficiently, on time and to the expected standard
The practical information:
- Part-time contract based on 20 hours per week
- Due to the seasonal nature of our business, additional hours will be required at certain times of the year
- Salary levels reflect the flexibility required by the role and the additional hours worked during busier periods
- Whilst your contracted hours are based on 20 hours per week, working hours may fluctuate in line with business needs. During quieter periods, fewer hours may be required; however, salary will remain consistent to balance this seasonal variation
- Rotas are typically issued 2-3 months in advance, providing excellent visibility of working patterns
If you are a motivated hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the front and takes pride in delivering exceptional standards, we'd love to hear from you.
