Role Overview
We are seeking a charismatic, creative and knowledgeable self-starter to lead content direction for our soon-to-be-launched Art & Science YouTube and TikTok channels. The successful candidate will serve as the on-camera face and voice of the brand, conducting insightful interviews with notable figures from the worlds of science and art, producing compelling voice-over narratives and managing the productive and creative process.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to be involved in building something special and leaving their mark on it, an exercise in intellectual creativity and media that fills a unique niche.
Key Responsibilities
Hosting & Narration
- Present and narrate video segments, ensuring clarity and engagement.
- Introduce topics, guests, and episode highlights in a compelling manner.
Interviewing Guests
- Research and prepare interview questions for high-profile individuals from art and science fields.
- Conduct dynamic, informative interviews that illuminate key themes, discoveries, and artistic perspectives.
Production & Filmmaking Oversight
- Collaborate with directors, cinematographers, and editors on creative concepts, shot lists, and overall vision.
- Provide input during scriptwriting, storyboarding, and scheduling to ensure quality and cohesion.
- Oversee post-production, giving feedback on edits, sound, and visuals to maintain high production standards.
Content Development
- Brainstorm and develop innovative ideas for videos, integrating art, science, and storytelling.
- Stay abreast of relevant trends, breakthroughs, and cultural events to keep content fresh and engaging.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable interest or background in both art and science, whether academic or professional. Must be able to evidence this.
- Bachelor’s degree in film production, Broadcasting, Journalism, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Some on-camera experience as a host, presenter, or journalist.
- Proven knowledge of filmmaking processes (pre-production, production, and post-production).
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities; adept at conveying complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
