art-K, a leading private art education service, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as Self-Employed Party Leaders for its arty birthday parties during weekends. With a vibrant network of 7,000 weekly students, art-K is expanding its offerings to provide unique and creative birthday experiences. In the last few months art-K has delivered over 100 parties and expects this to continue growing in 2025.

As a Self-Employed Party Leader, you play a crucial role in ensuring the success of each 2-hour birthday party session as well as the pre-party communication, set up & tidy up. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Communication and Coordination: Engage with parents to coordinate and plan each party, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants.

  2. Studio Setup and Ambience: Create an ambient studio environment for the party, setting the music up & preparing the projects in alignment with the birthday person’s requests

  3. Art Workshop Leadership: Lead engaging and inspiring art workshops for party-goers, catering to various skill levels. Foster a positive and encouraging environment, sparking creativity and experimentation among attendees.

  4. Clean-up: Maintain high cleanliness standards by tidying up the studio after each class, leaving a welcoming space for the next session.

Teaching and Encouragement: Support children to complete their art projects, offering guidance, and encouraging them to explore their creativity whilst having fun. Midway through the workshop it may require a shake break or mini dance party to release extra energy!

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a second-year student in an Art-related university course.

  • Strong proficiency in various art mediums, including watercolour, acrylics, and air-dried clay.

  • Proven experience working with children from Year 1 (aged 5-6) and upwards.

  • Positive, proactive, and customer-service-oriented attitude.

Qualifications:

Art A level and Foundation (desired).

DBS check (cost covered by the self-employed person, facilitated by art-K).

Training:

2 sessions shadowing/assisting parties prior to you leading a party.
