HARTS (Hospital Arts at Aintree) aims to provide a fully accessible and community engaging arts programme at Aintree Hospital, Liverpool University Hospitals, aiming to improve the health and wellbeing of patients and staff, supporting the aims and values of the NHS.
The range of HARTS projects is developed by the Healing Arts Manager, and is delivered and managed by volunteers from university or college course-related placements, or from a range of other backgrounds for work experience.
Role Overview
- Create and deliver drama and musical performances for patients
- Bring together ward performers, key hospital staff members on participating wards, their patients and visiting relatives
- Work with in-house volunteer artists on HARTS placements to help organise and display their artwork
- Develop art workshops for hospital patients, carers and staff
Qualifications
The Ward Activity volunteer requires participants to maintain attention to detail, to be a good team player, methodical and well-organised, and have an ability to multitask and provide a report on MS Word on the day’s events.
