We are looking for volunteers to support us with invigilating our exhibitions in Kirkby Gallery. We need people to greet and welcome visitors to the space, to help ensure that visitors follow our exhibition guidelines, to introduce them to some of the wider cultural offers across the borough and to support the staff with light tasks and desktop duties at quieter times.
We are looking for friendly, outgoing people who possess an alert and attentive attitude when dealing with the public. An interest in art, culture and local history is welcomed. We need people who are reliable and can make a commitment to one either half or full day each week.
Our volunteers benefit from being part of a supportive and friendly family of like-minded people. They gain free access to a broad range of arts and craft activities that take place throughout the year and are invited on at least two annual trips to other cultural venues. They can attend all of our private views and VIP events and will be given a free copy of any exhibition catalogues.
Kirkby Gallery is one of the best contemporary art galleries in Merseyside and the North West of England. The gallery presents a broad and ambitious programme of exhibitions, which draws upon collections from the Arts Council Collection, Hayward Touring, National Trust and multiple regional partner galleries.
