About You

You are a Data Analyst who has real curiosity when it comes to answering business questions with data. You enjoy finding hidden patterns and relationships. You look for the right tools for a given job - rather than just using what you are used to. You enjoy working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders across the business. You take an interest in the wider business context and independently identify areas where data and analytics could deliver value. You have a passion for learning and are always looking for opportunities to hone your craft.

About The Role

You will be responsible for answering both day-to-day and longer-term, strategic questions with data, analysing data and processes, developing analytics data flows, dashboards and reporting, and distilling actionable insights on core business metrics. Reporting directly to the Head of Data, you will work across Arsenault to add critical analytical horsepower to ensure we are making data-driven decisions, and using insights to improve efficiency and customer experiences.

Arsenault is one of the largest automotive marketplaces in the world. We are lucky to have thousands of user-generated listings submitted monthly with content gems from James Bond's Aston DB5 to Elvis Presley's Cadillac. The site is old, launched in 2005 but under new, VC-backed ownership since 2018 and on an exciting triple-digit growth journey to bring classic vehicle transactions online.

Our culture is incredibly important to us. We are lucky enough to have built the team from scratch with a focus on enjoying the day-to-day, diversity, inclusion and high performance. Despite being an entirely distributed business we build strong connections as colleagues and have created a fun and high-performing culture. Whilst the team is only 100 people now we expect to double over the next 12 months. We are looking for a Data Analyst that has good, relevant experience and wants to make their mark in a rapid-growth business where they can make a real difference, whilst enjoying the environment and culture. Finally, you do not have to love cars to work here (and lots of our team do not) but for those who do this is an incredible opportunity to combine your passion and professional lives.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Working proactively with stakeholders to understand data requirements, converting these into structured analytical hypotheses and output and using these to help identify areas where we can drive business performance and growth.
  • Building innovative and scalable analytical solutions which solve real business problems.
  • Working to optimise our analytics infrastructure and analytics data pipelines using a range of technologies.
  • Identifying new data sources which could deliver business value and working with other technical stakeholders to ingest and transform this into analytics-ready modelled datasets.
  • Confidently delivering the results of your work to technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence decision-making in a way which ensures that business decisions are data-driven and evidence-based.
  • Being closely involved with the identification, procurement and implementation processes for new technologies such as BI/reporting tools, observability platforms etc.

What do you get (remuneration & benefits)?

  • Salary up to £50,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Stock options
  • All the equipment you need to get the job done
  • Flexible working - work where and when you want in order to get the job done
  • Access to free counselling, therapy and mental health support via Spill
  • Professional development allowance
  • Company-paid team retreats
  • Income Protection
  • Life Cover
  • Generous parental leave
  • 33 days holiday
