We are looking for a Senior Creative to join our club\’s Creative Studio, collaborating with a breadth of creative talent and helping us to continue to push the boundaries of what an in‑house studio can achieve.
In this exciting position, you will apply your creative expertise across a variety of projects, creating and shaping our brand and partner campaigns to deliver work that deepens our connection with millions of supporters around the world. Our Creative Studio is an ambitious in‑house team that scales up and down with freelancers, agencies and production partners based on our needs.
You will be central to the continued evolution of the department, helping to deliver new ways of working with our teams and partners, and keeping us up to date with the wider creative industry (especially outside of football).
Your day‑to‑day
- Deliver bold and innovative ideas, pushing creative boundaries for our Brand, Retail, Venue and Partnerships marketing projects.
- Uphold a highly collaborative approach, managing and mentoring creative teams and freelance specialists to foster a happy, motivated and collaborative environment that delivers industry‑leading work.
- Oversee our creative strategy in partnership with the Studio Lead, working with agency partners to scale our point of view across projects that we’re not directly producing.
- Create work that resonates and is authentic to our brand, converting insight‑led strategic thinking into simple, distinct, truthful and relevant ideas for our supporters and partners.
- Champion feedback, delivering it in a precise, constructive and timely way and encouraging junior colleagues, agencies and freelancers to find answers and develop under your guidance.
- Support the evolution of our Studio, keeping it up to date with key trends in advertising and the creative industry, continually pushing us above and beyond what we’ve achieved before.
- Collaborate with wider Marketing teams and beyond, partnering with those less familiar with the creative process to take them on the journey with you.
What we are looking for
- Extensive creative background: experience as a Senior Creative, Associate Creative Director or Creative Director, with a portfolio that shows your ability to mould strategic thinking into compelling and original ideas, and a history of developing ideas outside traditional media channels, including 360 campaigns.
- Dedication to your craft: outstanding commitment to honing your skills in copywriting or art direction, with a solid understanding of the full creative mix.
- Grasp of football culture: core understanding of football culture and its language (direct experience in football or sport is not essential).
- Exceptional stakeholder management: track record of building and upholding relationships with senior stakeholders, supporting them in telling their story while confidently challenging them on new ways to communicate.
- Passionate and inspiring leader: experience managing both permanent and freelance creative teams and specialists, motivating those around you and getting the best out of people.
- Vast industry knowledge: deep knowledge of the creative industry and practitioners, with a clear point of view on the impact of creative and how excellent work can deliver both on an emotional and commercial level.
- Best‑in‑class communicator: ability to establish impactful relationships across a wide range of colleagues, inspiring stakeholders with the brilliant ideas you and your team develop.
