This is a fast-paced dynamic position responsible for launching multiple campaigns per season, alongside sustaining always-on activity across owned, paid and earned media to hit ambitious targets that enable us to achieve long-term business growth.

In this exciting role, you will line manage a passionate team and play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of kit launches and additional high-profile product launches, and you will be empowered to deliver meaningful moments that resonate with supporters and customers alike; offering a best-in-class experience both online and in-store.

We are one of the most famous clubs in world football, with a rich heritage and history of success. Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. We have a very defined purpose: to act for a winning team, culture and community. We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).

We are committed to ensuring that our environments for children, young people and adults at risk remain safe and inclusive. We therefore require successful candidates to complete a DBS check and other essential background checks prior to starting their employment. Depending on the responsibilities of the role, a DBS will be either a basic, standard, or enhanced check.

Your day-to-day:

  • Deliver our retail marketing strategy - you will relish the opportunity to develop and implement our retail marketing strategy to deliver against ambitious annual growth targets and support the development of wider retail and club strategies and you will manage day-to-day budgets, tracking and optimising spend.
  • Lead and inspire a passionate team - you will manage and mentor the Retail Marketing team, identifying learning and development opportunities and you will foster a high-performance culture, acknowledging achievements and managing performance effectively.
  • Partner with our wider Retail team - you will work closely with retail stakeholders to shape our annual retail calendar to include all Adidas and own brand product launches and identify peak commercial moments and opportunities to activate, and you will lead on retail marketing budget requirement planning and forecasting.
  • Operate as strategic lead for key launches - you will be entrusted to operate as our strategic lead for kit launches and other high profile product launches, developing and delivering innovative full-funnel campaigns to drive supporter sentiment, engagement and spend; and you will oversee best-in-class creative executions and storytelling across a range of media formats.
  • Collaborate with teams across our club - you will work with our Paid Media team to develop our retail paid media strategy, and you will collaborate, influence and coordinate with wider Marketing teams (Creative, Content, Data & Insights) to leverage expertise across the wider club and drive efficiency and effective processes across our organisation.
  • Be our strategic point of contact with crucial partners - you will establish yourself as the go-to person with our retail partners such as Adidas, enabling us to establish and maintain collaborations that feel authentic to our club.
  • Act as a guardian of our brand - you will proudly be the voice of our brand within the Retail team and advocate for retail across the wider Marketing team, identifying new brand and business opportunities and delivering strategic projects and new ventures for the department.
  • Keep our supporters at the heart of what we do - you will champion a supporter-first mindset and drive cross promotion of products across hospitality, ticketing and stadium tours, driving and implementing plans which leverage supporter segmentation.

What we are looking for:

  • Background in retail marketing - you are equipped with experience in retail marketing and are able to demonstrate proven results, and you have a deep level knowledge of retail business and consumer fashion trends.
  • Experience planning and delivering campaigns with athletes - you come with a track record of executing successful retail marketing campaigns with athletes at the forefront.
  • Inspiring people manager - you are proud of your history of coaching a team of direct reports, prioritising their personal development and uniting dedicated teams towards common commercial goals.
  • Extensive knowledge of performance marketing and data - you have a thorough understanding of performance marketing across owned & operated, paid and earned media, and you are well versed in data and analytics.
  • Commercial mindset - you have experience of budget management and you possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to continuously innovate to achieve winning results.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills - you are able to build impactful relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, bringing people on the journey with you and making quick, smart, data led commercial decisions.
  • Clear and compassionate communicator - you have effective communication skills and you thrive when you are connecting with colleagues and establishing trusting relationships.
