We are looking for an Academy Operations Coordinator to play a central role in supporting the smooth and effective running of our Women’s Academy, ensuring high‑quality operational delivery across all academy programmes and age groups. Through this work, you will help foster an environment that consistently reflects high‑performance standards and values. In this pivotal role, you will lead the operational execution and ongoing review of our Women’s Development Centres. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will help expand access to the talent pathway, enhance diversity, and support the identification of future players who reflect the breadth of the communities we serve.
Our Commitment to Safeguarding
We are committed to ensuring that our environments for children, young people and adults remain safe and inclusive. We therefore require successful candidates to complete a DBS check and other essential background checks prior to starting their employment. Depending on the responsibilities of the role, a DBS will be either a basic, standard, or enhanced check.
Your day‑to‑day
- Lead Talent ID and Development Centre operations – you’ll oversee the set‑up, delivery and review of our Women’s Talent ID, Development and ETC programmes, ensuring inclusive, high‑quality experiences.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day centre delivery – you will manage scheduling, logistics, facility bookings and programme delivery across AWFC centres and our Women’s Academy.
- Own player and parent communication – you’ll deliver clear, timely communication around schedules, expectations and operational processes.
- Develop operational frameworks and documentation – you will create and maintain processes, guidance and resources for staff, coaches and scouts.
- Oversee data, reporting and insights – you’ll manage attendance tracking, databases and performance information to support reviews and decision making.
- Build facilities and partnerships – you will identify and manage facilities and partners across North London and wider regions, and act as the main point of contact for Diversity Centre operations.
- Enable cross‑functional delivery – you’ll collaborate closely with coaching, medical, athletic development and education teams to ensure seamless programme coordination.
- Support planning, events and budgets – you will assist with fixtures, tournaments and academy events, provide operational reporting, and support budget management for Women’s Academy and centre delivery.
What we are looking for
- Proven operational experience in sport or education – you bring hands‑on experience working within a sporting, youth development or educational environment, with confidence managing operational demands.
- Highly organised and communicative individual – you’re able to balance multiple tasks and stakeholders, communicating clearly and effectively in a fast‑paced setting.
- Champion for equality, diversity and inclusion – you demonstrate commitment to inclusive pathways and positive experiences for girls and young women from a diverse range of backgrounds.
- Advocate for safeguarding and health and safety – you assist in creating and supporting safe environments for our participants, and keep up to date with safeguarding training.
- Confident problem solver – you thrive in high‑performance environments, approaching challenges with initiative, adaptability and sound judgement.
- Flexible and professional approach – you’re comfortable working evenings and weekends when required and consistently uphold the highest standards of professionalism in line with our values.
- Interest or experience within women’s football pathways – you bring insight into women’s football, academy systems or talent ID environments, ideally supported by knowledge of FA Women’s Talent Pathway regulations and WSL Academy standards.
- Credible expertise – you hold up to date certificates in FA Safeguarding Children and Emergency First Aid and keep training consistently up to date.
Position of Trust
As someone in a position of trust role involving regular, direct contact with children or vulnerable adults you will be expected to uphold high standards of conduct to prevent abuse, including sexual, physical or emotional harm. This role requires you to keep updated with both Club and FA Safeguarding training and education.
