The Role

We are looking for an Academy Football Analyst on a casual basis to assist in providing insightful and deliverable performance analysis within our Academy.

In this exciting role, you\’ll support and drive standards across all analysis processes at our club\’s highly reputable Hale End site and you will be entrusted to follow and develop our Academy\’s relevant analytics processes and workflows, ensuring alignment and optimal standards of quality are achieved.

You\’ll be encouraged to play a role in a range of collaborative projects and receive valuable individual development and work directly with high-level practitioners from across our club.

Please note: this is a seasonal casual role based on 15 hours a week

Your day-to-day

Provide football analysis support to our U9-16 programme, including but not limited to, the following:

  • Supporting video capture with world-leading camera software and developing training databases in line with our methodology
  • Assisting full-time football analysts in live matchday capture, leading on various matchday setups (including away games)
  • Filming and coding of home and away matches
  • Providing video and other material to coaches/players that contributes towards individual player development
  • Leading and/ or assisting in Academy/department projects
  • Providing support to coach developer in the collection of information to enhance coach development provision
  • Driving feedback opportunities to players and staff and developing innovative ways to visualise information/delivery
  • Assisting in continuous production of Academy-wide documentation and learning resources (team/individual best practice libraries / playing philosophy etc)
  • Exploring research routes that can plug knowledge gaps at our Academy and drive practises forwards

What we are looking for

  • Background in professional football – you come equipped with previous experience of working within football in order to understand the unique nature of football culture
  • Credible expertise – you hold an FA Level 1 Coaching License and aminimum Undergraduate Degree relating to the field of Sports Science, Coaching and Performance or Performance Analysis (it\’s desirable that you\’re currently undergoing a Postgraduate MSc Degree relating to the field of Sports Science, Coaching and Performance or Performance Analysis)
  • Understanding ofacademy environments – you\’re able to demonstrate a level of understanding in elite academy environments
  • Excellent communication skills – you can confidently communicate with coaches and players and you canfacilitate the effective delivery of performance insights
  • Expertise on our game – you have a goodtechnical and tactical understanding of football and are well versed in a diverse range of strategies, systems, philosophies and game models, and you possess a willingness to further capabilities
  • Experience with key tools and platforms – you possess a good level of exposure and competency with software/hardware such as: MacBook Packages, Hudl Pro Suite – Hudl.com/Hudl Sportscode/Hudl Studio/CODA, Video Editing software
