We are looking for an Academy Football Analyst on a casual basis to assist in providing insightful and deliverable performance analysis within our Academy. The role involves supporting and driving analysis standards across our club's sites, developing analytics processes, and collaborating on projects with high‑level practitioners. It is a seasonal casual role based on 10–20 hours per week.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Provide football analysis support to the full academy programme (U9–21).
  • Support video capture with world‑leading camera software and develop training databases in line with the club methodology.
  • Assist full‑time football analysts in live matchday capture, leading on various matchday set‑ups (including away games).
  • Film and code home and away matches.
  • Provide video and other material to coaches/players that contributes towards individual player development.
  • Lead and/or assist in academy/department projects.
  • Provide support to coach developers in the collection of information to enhance coach development provision.
  • Drive feedback opportunities to players and staff and develop innovative ways to visualise information/delivery.
  • Assist in continuous production of academy‑wide documentation and learning resources (team/individual best practice libraries, playing philosophy, etc).
  • Explore research routes that can plug knowledge gaps at the Academy and drive working practices.

Desired Background & Qualifications

  • Background in professional football – previous experience working within football.
  • Credible expertise – FA Level 1 Coaching License and a minimum undergraduate degree in Sports Science, Coaching or Performance Analysis (desirable: pursuing a postgraduate MSc in a related field).
  • Understanding of academy environments – demonstrated knowledge of elite academy settings.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to communicate confidently with coaches and players and facilitate the effective delivery of performance insights.
  • Expertise on our game – solid technical and tactical understanding of football and familiarity with diverse strategies, systems and philosophies, with a willingness to further develop capabilities.
  • Experience with key tools and platforms – competency with MacBook, Hudl Pro Suite (Hudl.com/Hudl Sportscode/Hudl Studio/CODA), and video editing software.
  • Forward‑thinking approach – motivated to continuously challenge, learn and adapt in an ever‑evolving industry.
  • Ambassador for the club – operate with discretion and champion club values.
  • Accredited in safeguarding and first aid – up‑to‑date certificates in FA Safeguarding Children and Emergency First Aid.
  • Position of trust – expected to uphold high standards of conduct, keep updated with club and FA safeguarding training and education.
