We are looking for a Grounds Person to join our team and support the maintenance and general upkeep of our world class playing surfaces and amenity landscapes at our Hale End Academy.

Your day-to-day:
- Uphold our world class playing surfaces and landscapes - you'll be entrusted with the maintenance of our playing surfaces and amenity landscapes.
- Carry out daily activities as part of a wider team - you’ll be using our handheld and ride on cutting equipment, strimming around trees, operating our sprinklers, hand digging borders, spreading composts, incorporating into soil, sweeping up hard standing areas, pruning shrubs, disposing of leaves, cuttings and debris, and hand weeding sensitive areas where chemical control is not permitted.
- Efficiently use specialist equipment - you will carry out tractor and trailer work and use a range of machinery in renovation of grass areas such as turf cutters, stone buriers, scarifiers and seeders.
- Keep a keen-eye on the finer details - you'll assist in the renovation of the grounds and play a key role in marking out pitches, applying fertiliser and watering plants.
- Support wider team with important manual tasks - you will help out with deliveries and undertake manual handling of bags of sand, fertiliser and seed ranging from 20-25kg.
- Prioritise best-in-class standards - you'll proactively clean equipment stores and washdown areas and play a vital role in ensuring we're working in an impeccable and spotless environment.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified expert - you hold NVQ level 2 or above in green keeping and groundsmanship or equivalent.
- Experience with a range of key equipment - you've used a wide range of turf equipment such as cylinder mowers, ride on mowers, scarification equipment and a wide range of renovation equipment as well as hedge cutters, strimmers and all equipment associated with amenity landscapes.
- Background in all aspects of grounds keeping - you've not only applied your specialist skills to playing surfaces but also to wider amenity landscapes as well.
- Proud team player - you're able to collaborate courageously with the wider team but you also demonstrate the capabilities to work using your own initiative.
- Safety conscious individual - you have a good understanding of the latest health and safety legislation related to the proper use of equipment and machinery.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills - you take a meticulous approach to your work and pride yourself on your ability to build strong relationships with colleagues.
- Clean UK driving licence - you'll be able to transport yourself to our club's various different locations.
