As part of this remit, you'll also oversee operational aspects of the Arsenal Women’s Talent ID centres, ensuring they contribute effectively to the wider recruitment strategy and long-term player pathway.

We are one of the most famous clubs in world football, with a rich heritage and history of success. Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. We have a very defined purpose: to act for a winning team, culture and community. We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

We are committed to ensuring that our environments for children, young people and adults at risk remain safe and inclusive. We therefore require successful candidates to complete an enhanced DBS check and other essential background checks prior to starting their employment.

Your day-to-day

  • Oversee crucial Talent ID operations - you'll be entrusted to coordinate the operational and administrative needs of our Women's Academy Talent ID department, ensuring smooth delivery of the scouting and recruitment plan.
  • Feed into department strategy - you will support the Emerging Talent Lead with planning and development of the Academy Talent ID strategy, making sure that all activity aligns with our long-term player development framework and recruitment philosophy.
  • Support our scouting network - you'll diligently maintain scouting schedules, staff assignments, and regional coverage across targeted age groups and leagues, and you'll manage communication across the scouting network, including briefings, updates, reporting requirements, and CPD opportunities.
  • Assist with player trials and assessments - you will help to coordinate trial processes, player monitoring, and progression tracking into our Academy pathway, and you'll line manage and support scouts with player assessment processes, evaluation frameworks and data entry protocols.
  • Build impactful relationships with external stakeholders - you will seek to establish and uphold effective relationships with key grassroots and pro-game stakeholders to strengthen our club's visibility and reach.
  • Act as an ambassador for our club - you will proudly represent our Talent ID department at relevant fixtures, festivals, community events and FA meetings where required, and you'll champion a culture of diversity, inclusivity and belonging, ensuring that our player recruitment processes promote diverse, unbiased access and reflect our club's values.
  • Maintain the smooth running of our Talent ID centres - you will be tasked with supporting the day-to-day operations of all our Women's Talent ID centres, ensuring consistent high-quality delivery across all sites, and managing schedules, staffing, training session planning and logistics for each centre.
  • Uphold our high standards - you'll strive to ensure facilities, equipment, and resources are consistently prepared and maintained.

What we are looking for

  • Background in football - you come with experience in scouting, youth football, player development, or talent identification, and you possess an innate ability to assess players holistically using development-focused principles.
  • Credible expertise - you hold up to date certificates in FA Safeguarding Children and Emergency First Aid, and you ideally hold FA Talent ID (Level 2 or above) or an equivalent scouting qualification.
  • Champion of equality, diversity and inclusion - you possess a demonstrable commitment to diversity, inclusion, and widening participation in girls’ and women’s football.
  • Best-in-class communicator - you've got exceptional communication skills with the ability to build impactful relationships and networks across grassroots and community environments.
  • Excellent organisational skills - you can work collaboratively across multiple departments and you're able to coordinate staff and complex schedules.
  • Strategic and operational mindset - you're equipped with effective strategic planning skills as well as an understanding of football operations, regulations and best practices.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach - you're able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and you're comfortable with regular travel to scouting locations, grassroots matches, Talent ID centres and Academy sites.

Position of Trust

As someone in a position of trust role involving regular, direct contact with children or vulnerable adults you will be expected to uphold high standards of conduct to prevent abuse, including sexual, physical, or emotional harm.
