Join to apply for the Creative Copywriter role at Arsenal Football Club.
The Role
We are looking for a Creative Copywriter to play an instrumental role within our Creative Studio, helping our award‑winning Creative team push the boundaries of what an in‑house studio can achieve. In this exciting role you will work across a variety of projects for the club, conceptualising and crafting copy for our brand and partner campaigns to deepen our connection with our millions of supporters around the world. You will be part of an ambitious in‑house team that can scale up and down with freelancers, agencies and production partners, and will be a key part of the continued evolution of the department – working on projects of all shapes and sizes and collaborating with teams outside the norms of a traditional agency set‑up.
Who We Are
We are one of the most famous clubs in world football, with a rich heritage and history of success. Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. Our purpose is to act for a winning team, culture and community, championing our community and each other, and doing the right thing even when no one is looking.
Your day-to-day
- Deliver bold and innovative ideas and copy – you’ll relish the opportunity to deliver big ideas and beautifully crafted copy that pushes creative boundaries for our Brand, Retail, Venue and Partnerships marketing projects.
- Act as a guardian of our brand tone of voice – develop a deep understanding and ongoing vision for our brand tone.
- Collaborate with wider colleagues – review and craft copy with other teams across the club, acting as a key stakeholder for how our copywriting delivers on big campaign ideas, our brand strategy and our tone of voice.
- Champion feedback – deliver and receive feedback in a precise, friendly and constructive way, demonstrating a willingness to challenge creative feedback and take direction from senior colleagues to find solutions or compromises when needed.
- Uphold consistency – work closely with external suppliers and partners to guide those less familiar with our brand to achieve consistency.
- Support the evolution of our Studio – keep our Creative Studio up to date with key trends in advertising and creative industries, continually pushing us above and beyond what we have achieved in the past.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience as a Creative Copywriter – background in creating short‑form and long‑form writing for leading brands or agencies across multiple media channels.
- Track record of moulding briefs into stellar work – pride in a portfolio that shows the ability to deliver strategic business and creative briefs into simple, distinct, truthful and relevant copy for supporters and partners.
- Passion for your craft – a passion for how copy and art direction can work in harmony across numerous channels, inspiring the wider Creative Studio team.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills – ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, supporting them in the stories they want to tell while challenging them on new ways to communicate.
- Grasp of football culture – core understanding of football culture and the language around our game (direct experience in football or sport not essential).
- Best‑in‑class communicator – establish and maintain impactful relationships with colleagues, using effective presentation skills to inspire stakeholders.
- Proud ambassador for our club – positive and driven, with a clear view on our creative strategy and a keen eye for detail, acting as a guardian of our brand tone of voice and guidelines.
