We are looking for an Academy Coach to join us on a casual basis to work within the Youth Development and Foundation Phases and oversee and deliver the training and games programme of the Under 9-16 age groups. In this exciting role, you will be assisting the age groups directly below and above, whilst also working closely with support departments to deliver both on and off field success.

Your day-to-day
- Deliver coaching sessions – you’ll plan, deliver and review age appropriate coaching sessions within our Academy's periodisation plan and playing philosophy, contributing to the development of world class players and lifelong students of the game.
- Keep senior colleagues up to date – you will diligently submit session plans, match and attendance reports, and player reviews to the Head Coach.
- Conduct effective player meetings throughout the season – you’ll partner with the Head Coaches to hold mid and full season meetings with players, parents/guardians and Coaches.
- Oversee a smooth operation – you will take pride in being responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of equipment and you’ll identify resource needs and report as appropriate.
- Partner with our player Recruitment team – you’ll form a close link with our Recruitment team and discuss and input into retain and release strategies.
- Act as an ambassador for our club – you will maintain discipline as set out in our code of conduct, and you’ll adhere to a strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to our club and its operation.
What we are looking for
- Background in coaching young players – you come with experience as an Academy Coach within relevant age groups, and you have an up to date understanding of long term player development and modern coaching methods and strategies.
- Credible expertise – you hold a UEFA B Coaching Award and you have a valid FA Licensed Coaches Club Membership, as well as up to date certificates in FA Safeguarding Children and Emergency Aid.
- Excellent communication skills – you have an impactful ability to communicate effectively with parents/guardians, Coaches and players of varying ages and experience, and you’re able to produce outstanding written and verbal reports.
- Best-in-class attention to detail – you take pride in providing accurate and thorough session plans and reports, to equip colleagues with all they need and set players up for success.
- Natural team-player – you’re able to work closely with Head Coaches, Coaches, Recruitment teams and colleagues across the board to help achieve wider aims and objectives.
- Professional and dedicated approach – you go about your role with professionalism and discretion and you go out of your way to help others and offer additional support when needed.
Position of Trust
As someone in a position of trust role involving regular, direct contact with children or vulnerable adults you will be expected to uphold high standards of conduct to prevent abuse, including sexual, physical or emotional harm. This role requires you to keep updated with both our internal club training and FA Safeguarding training and education.
