First Team Rehab Physiotherapist – Men’s First Team
The Role
We are looking for a First Team Rehab Physiotherapist for our Men’s First Team to deliver and drive exceptional levels of physiotherapy for our players across training and matches. In this role, your key responsibility will be to deliver expert rehabilitation in line with our club\’s protocols and the department philosophy. You will provide pitch-side medical services for training and matchday coverage at a range of fixtures. You will provide manual therapy to players in line with analysed deficits, and assist with the physical preparation of players alongside Performance colleagues prior to training and matches. You will lead and assist with the assessment, treatment and diagnosis of musculoskeletal issues affecting players to ensure they return to maximal physical capability in a safe and effective way. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the continued development of team processes, performance pathways and rehabilitation protocols, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the department and supporting the delivery of all elements of athlete health and performance.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the rehabilitation of players — lead and assist with rehabilitation from injury conception through to return to performance, utilising the Multidisciplinary team as directed by the Head Physiotherapist
- Collaborate with Medical and Performance staff to maximise physical performance, mitigate injury risk and rehabilitate players back to maximum physical capability, providing a holistic approach to screening, recovery, assessment, strength/conditioning and rehabilitation
- Provide pitch-side coverage for training sessions and matchday coverage for fixtures as determined by the Head of Department
- Maintain data collection and create data visualisation for regular reporting, injury auditing and seasonal reviews, and produce detailed clinical notes for all players to maintain medical records on our database in accordance with Premier League, CSP and HCPC requirements
- Deliver manual handling and soft tissue skills for fit and injured players, and collect/analyze data to identify causes of injury
- Build and maintain relationships with players and colleagues, consulting with players to gather information about general health and injury
- Contribute to the club’s innovation and research efforts, evolving approaches to stay ahead of the curve
- Act as an ambassador for the club and adhere to strict confidentiality regarding information related to the club and its operation
What We Are Looking For
- Extensive experience within elite level sport, with a track record of working in professional sport and providing pitch-side medical run-on for elite athletes
- BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy (or working towards a higher qualification) and MCSP and HCPC registered
- Exceptional manual therapy and treatment skills, with ability to plan and deliver gym and pitch-based rehabilitation programmes
- Excellent communicator, able to build relationships with players and staff and act as a role model
- Natural team player, capable of integrating into a high-performance multidisciplinary team
- Organised and adaptable mindset with strong prioritisation skills and resilience
- Competent administrative skills with understanding of health and safety in a sporting environment
- Passion for growth and innovation with a proactive approach to continuous professional development
