ArrowXL are excited to announce that we’re now recruiting for a Transport Manager (2 month FTC) for our Wigan Head Office.
Leading your teams, you will hold overall responsibility for the smooth operation of our Transport and Service Delivery functions, ensuring our customers receive the best quality service.

Main Responsibilities
On a day-to-day basis, this role is about leading on-site resources (colleagues, vehicles, and equipment) to ensure we have everything required in the right place at the right time to not only meet, but also flex, to our customers changing needs.
Reporting into the site General Manager you will also be responsible for;
- Leading, guiding and motivating your team of skilled Shift Managers, First Line Managers and service delivery crews
- Efficient fleet utilisation, resource planning and cost control (whilst always ensuring the operation is both effective and compliant)
- Take lead and be the site expert for legal compliance and safety, ensuring your sites consistently operate safely and legally
- Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies within the Transport function, recommending and implementing changes where needed and sharing best practice across our network of hubs
- The resourcing, development and management of all colleagues within your team
- Making prompt decisions which protect customer service and our delivery schedule, as well as remaining commercially focused
The Ideal Candidate
With the amount of applications expected for this position, we will only be able to proceed forward with candidates who match our essential requirements stated below:
- At least 3 years’ operating as a Transport Manager within a medium/large-scale transport operation
- Demonstrable experience improving transport operations and introducing operational excellence
- Strong knowledge of Road Transport Regulations, Health & Safety, fleet compliance and working time directives
- Hold a national CPC
- Demonstrable commercial and financial acumen
- Strong people skills – able to influence, coach and develop
- Full UK driving licence
