ArrowXL is looking for a Test Analyst to join our team, based at our Wigan office. You’ll be empowered to make a real impact within a collaborative environment.

Working within the IT Governance and Testing Team to carry out functional, integration and UAT test scripting and execution activities for both small change and large projects. As a Test Analyst you will be working closely with the Test Manager and Test Analysts. You will be required to liaise with Project Managers, technical team, offshore and third parties to ensure any changes meet solution and user requirements. The role will require you to work independently and within a project team and to report progress at regular intervals to Test Manager or Lead Tester.

What will the role involve?

  • Reviewing requirements and solution documentation.
  • Creating test scenarios using a risk-based approach.
  • Creating Test Scripts and Test Data.
  • Executing test scenarios using Microsoft Azure DevOps and MS Excel.
  • Identifying and raising defects using Microsoft Azure DevOps.
  • Retesting of defects.
  • Liaising with project team, technical team, offshore team and 3rd parties.
  • Working with test team to continually improve processes.
  • Testing of ArrowXL Operational systems and integration middleware technologies.

  • Exercises professional knowledge on specific fields, seeking advice from your manager where required.
  • Uses established procedures to solve problems, using own judgement and expertise.
  • Effectively manages time so that deadlines are met both individually and as a team.
  • Act upon any feedback from your line manager concerning individual and/or team performance.
  • Be responsible for and undertake continual learning and development both informally and formally, ensuring a clear understanding of the business and cross functional priorities.

  • Ability to multi-task and learn new processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with good documentation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to assimilate complex concepts and break down into tasks.
  • Enthusiasm for testing with an interest in self-development.
  • Basic knowledge of IT or programming terminology and a curiosity with how things work.
  • Knowledge of logistics industry.
  • Experience in using ArrowXL Operational systems.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, medium sized transport environment.
  • Ability to work as a team and with moderate supervision.
  • Strong eye for detail, time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Able to act at all times in a professional manner to the benefit of the company and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Understanding or experience of Software testing methodology.
  • Understanding or experience of Agile principles, and also Azure API services.
