ArrowXL is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team based at our Wigan office. You’ll be empowered to make a real impact within a collaborative environment. As a skilled technical engineer, you will work collaboratively to design and implement infrastructure strategies, drive continuous process improvements, and build a robust platform that supports our changing business requirements.

What will the role involve?

  • Assist in the design, development, implementation and testing of technical solutions based on business requirements.
  • Actively contribute to the wider IT strategy, striving to deliver stabilisation and continuous improvement – process and technology.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the IT infrastructure using the latest technology.
  • Put together and install infrastructure components on networks and servers, ensuring that the technical performance aspects in the infrastructure environment are optimised, including database, network, and application server performance.
  • Comply with governance procedures and strive to improve smartly and effectively.
  • Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components, and clearly document the design, maintenance, and support procedures for routine tasks.
  • Create reports and documentation outlining findings and solutions.

What are we looking for in our Infrastructure Engineer?

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar infrastructure role, with strong infrastructure design skills incorporating security, service, and operational considerations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, with experience monitoring, maintaining, and automating infrastructure environments.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with Office 365, Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, SAN/NAS, Azure, and LAN networking including switch configuration.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Confident in managing priorities and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
