ArrowXL is looking for a Transport First Line Manager for our Wigan depot, where you'll be empowered to make a real impact within our 2-person home delivery operation, in a supportive, collaborative environment where continuous improvement is encouraged.

In this role, you will lead a team of colleagues, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant operation of our transport function.

You’ll lead and develop teams, embed a positive culture, and drive high levels of engagement, accountability and performance across the operation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leading and motivating a team of Service Delivery Crews and Team Leaders, providing coaching, support and development to drive high performance.
  • Maximising fleet utilisation through effective resource planning and cost control, while ensuring the operation remains safe, compliant and efficient.
  • Taking ownership of legal compliance, health & safety and transport regulations across the operation.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and performance within the Transport function, recommending and implementing effective solutions.
  • Leading the recruitment, development and performance management of colleagues, ensuring Service Delivery Crews are fully trained in driver CPC, service delivery standards and product installation.
  • Making timely decisions that protect customer service and delivery performance while maintaining a strong commercial focus.
  • Managing on-site resources, including colleagues, vehicles and equipment, to ensure the operation can consistently meet and adapt to changing customer demands.

The Ideal Candidate

  • At least 2 years' experience leading and managing teams, ideally within a transport operation, with responsibility for performance, engagement and development.
  • Possess a good knowledge of Road Transport Regulations and hold a National CPC.
  • Ensure that all ‘O’ Licence requirements are adhered to and maintained.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Demonstrable experience improving transport operations, driving operational excellence and delivering measurable performance improvements.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, influence, coach and develop high-performing teams.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, making effective decisions while ensuring service, safety and delivery targets are consistently achieved.
