We're partnering exclusively with a leading global investment bank to hire a Senior Infrastructure Engineer into a business-critical technology team supporting infrastructure across Europe and Asia.

This isn't a traditional infrastructure role.

You'll be the senior technical figure within a close-knit engineering team, combining deep hands-on infrastructure expertise with technical leadership and mentoring.

You'll act as the senior technical authority within the team, leading major cloud migration initiatives and helping shape the future of enterprise infrastructure across a global business.

If you're passionate about enterprise infrastructure, enjoy mentoring other engineers and want to work on large-scale infrastructure transformation within a global business, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

You\'ll join a high-performing Infrastructure team responsible for supporting mission-critical platforms across both on-premise and cloud environments.

The environment is heavily focused on VMware, Windows Server, enterprise storage, disaster recovery and AWS.

Over the next 12 months, you'll play a key role in a major programme migrating newly acquired infrastructure into AWS while helping drive automation, resilience and operational excellence.

Alongside the technical work, you'll act as a trusted technical leader - someone other engineers naturally turn to for guidance, mentoring and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and support enterprise infrastructure across on-premise and AWS environments
  • Lead infrastructure modernisation and cloud migration projects
  • Own High Availability, Disaster Recovery and business continuity capabilities
  • Administer VMware, enterprise storage and Windows Server environments
  • Develop automation using Power Shell, Python and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Mentor and support other Infrastructure Engineers within the team
  • Collaborate with engineering teams across Europe, Asia and South America
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues
  • Participate in an on-call rota supporting business-critical production systems
  • Required Experience
  • VMware v Sphere / ESXi
  • Windows Server, Active Directory & Entra ID
  • AWS infrastructure (EC2, IAM, VPC, S3)
  • Hybrid cloud environments
  • Disaster Recovery & High Availability
  • Enterprise backup technologies (Veeam, Rubrik, Zerto or similar)
  • Power Shell and/or Python
  • Infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Strong troubleshooting skills within complex enterprise environments
  • What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Leads through technical excellence rather than people management
  • Enjoys mentoring and developing other engineers
  • Is passionate about infrastructure and emerging technologies
  • Thrives in fast-paced, business-critical environments
  • Has a collaborative mindset and enjoys working with global teams
  • Embraces AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity and automation

Alongside a highly competitive salary and performance bonus, you\'ll receive one of the strongest benefits packages in the market, including:

  • Private medical insurance for you and your dependants
  • 4x salary life assurance
  • Annual health assessments and 24/7 virtual GP access
  • Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme
  • On-site gym, cycle-to-work scheme and season ticket loan
  • Employee wellbeing programme and wellness initiatives
  • What\'s on Offer
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Hybrid working (4 days per week in Central London)
  • Opportunity to lead a major AWS cloud migration programme
  • Exposure to large-scale, enterprise infrastructure supporting a global business
  • Genuine technical leadership responsibilities without moving into people management
  • A collaborative engineering culture with excellent long-term career progression

Please note

This role requires someone who is comfortable working predominantly from the London office, enjoys collaborating closely with their team and is happy to participate in an on-call rota supporting critical production infrastructure.

If you\'re an experienced Infrastructure Engineer looking to work on enterprise-scale infrastructure within a globally recognised investment bank, we\'d love to hear from you.
