My client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team. You will need strong commercial experience in delivering within technical teams and helping support best practices.
Responsibilities/What you’ll do:
- Hands-on experience working with the listed tech stack: Java, Spring, Kubernetes, Docker, Postgres (relational databases) and Kafka.
- Experience working on OTT technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver with exceptional engineering practices, having hands-on experience with coding best practices/standards, TDD, BDD.
- Implementing CI/CD without manual human interventions, fully rolling non-disruptive automated production deployments, fully automated functional and non-functional testing.
- Understanding the benefits and disadvantages of microservices architecture, including experience effectively building and ensuring the implementation of tooling required to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Understanding of the non-functional aspects of delivery and operations (scale, reliability, observability) and what is required to maintain standards.
- Applied knowledge of lean methodologies and how to use the best approaches to deliver our goals e.g. scrum, kanban, iterative delivery, continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, being able to convey ideas clearly with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as being able to help with direction and problems of the engineers and SREs within the team.
- Experience in practical daily problem solving within a team, encouraging innovative ideas whilst negotiating practicalities to keep the team moving to deliver as effectively as possible.
- Foster a harmonious atmosphere within the team.
