We’re supporting a leading, technology driven organisation in securing a Senior Automation Engineer on a contract basis to join a high-performing Agile team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast paced environments, enjoys working closely with developers, and takes real ownership of quality across the delivery lifecycle.
The Role
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring robust, scalable, and high-quality software delivery. You will:
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Analysts, and Developers to define and validate acceptance criteria
- Pair with developers to drive functional validation and improve code quality
- Design and execute integration testing across platform components
- Act as a quality gatekeeper within the CI/CD pipeline
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives)
- Act as a key point of contact for external teams interacting with your systems
- Investigate live issues, perform root cause analysis, and support resolution
Key Skills
- Strong Agile/Scrum experience (pair programming, code reviews)
- Excellent Java (Java 17+) and OOP knowledge
- Experience with Cucumber (BDD)
- JavaScript experience with Playwright or Cypress
- Kubernetes exposure
- CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Strong REST API testing (functional + integration)
