The Business Development and Marketing Manager will play a critical role in driving sustainable growth for Drydens Law by combining strategic business development, client relationship support, and integrated marketing delivery. Working closely with the Commercial Director, senior leadership, fee earners, and the Client Relationship Management (CRM) team, this role will lead initiatives to win new instructions, retain and grow existing client relationships, and strengthen the firm’s market positioning within the lender, debt purchaser, and commercial recoveries sectors. This is a commercially focused role suited to an experienced professional with a strong understanding of B2B marketing, relationship‑led business development, and professional services environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Growth
- Develop and deliver a business development strategy aligned to the firm’s commercial objectives and sector focus.
- Identify, research, and qualify new business opportunities, target clients, and market segments.
- Support partners and senior stakeholders in converting opportunities into instructions through structured BD activity.
- Manage and develop a robust pipeline of prospects, tracking opportunities from initial engagement through to instruction.
- Coordinate cross‑selling and upselling opportunities across service lines and existing clients.
- Client Relationship & Account Management Support
- Work closely with the Client Relationship Team to support strategic client planning, retention, and relationship deepening.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of client review meetings, including performance analysis, SLAs, and action tracking.
- Support the development of tailored client plans, marketing materials, and communications for key accounts.
- Manage client and tender portals, ensuring accurate, timely, and high‑quality submissions.
- Tenders, Proposals & Credentials
- Lead and coordinate responses to tenders, RFPs, and new business proposals.
- Develop compelling, compliant, and client‑focused proposal content, credentials documents, and presentations.
- Maintain and continuously improve the firm’s bank of credentials, case studies, and sector experience.
- Ensure all proposal activity aligns with brand guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Marketing Strategy & Brand Management
- Develop and deliver an integrated marketing strategy that supports business development priorities.
- Strengthen brand positioning and market visibility across digital, social, events, and PR channels.
- Oversee the creation of high‑quality content for the website, social media, campaigns, and marketing collateral.
- Ensure consistent messaging that reinforces Drydens Law’s expertise, values, and commercial impact.
- Campaigns, Content & Digital Marketing
- Plan, execute, and measure targeted marketing and business development campaigns.
- Use insight, data, and market trends to shape thought leadership and client communications.
- Create engaging visual and written content, working with stakeholders to bring campaigns to life.
- Monitor campaign performance and continuously refine approaches to maximise ROI.
- Events & Market Engagement
- Own the planning and delivery of the firm’s events and sponsorship calendar.
- Deliver events designed to generate leads, support client relationships, and raise the firm’s profile.
- Manage pre‑ and post‑event communications, follow‑up activity, and effectiveness reporting.
- CRM, Systems & Reporting
- Own business development and marketing activity within Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Ensure accurate data capture, segmentation, and reporting to support pipeline management and campaign analysis.
- Produce regular reporting on BD activity, pipeline performance, and marketing effectiveness.
- Embed CRM best practice across teams to support consistency and insight.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to partners, senior leaders, and client‑facing teams on business development and marketing best practice.
- Coach and support colleagues to improve BD capability, including pitch preparation and client engagement.
- Collaborate across the firm to align BD and marketing activity with operational delivery.
- Governance, Risk & Quality
- Ensure all marketing and business development activity complies with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Support audits, client visits, and documentation as required.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Experience and existing relationships in the consumer and commercial legal debt recovery sector.
- Proven experience in a Business Development and/or Marketing role within professional services or a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of B2B relationship‑led sales and marketing.
- Experience managing tenders, proposals, and client pitches.
- Demonstrable ability to support revenue growth and pipeline development.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred), and Canva or similar tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commercial awareness.
Desirable
- Experience within legal services, recoveries, financial services, or a similar sector.
- Experience working directly with partners or senior fee earners.
- Knowledge of ESG‑led marketing or responsible business communications.
