The Role
We are seeking a technically minded and commercially driven Regional Technical Sales Manager – Midlands to develop new and existing business opportunities throughout Birmingham and the Midlands region. This role is ideal for an individual with experience selling technical products or solutions within industrial, construction, manufacturing, facilities management, logistics, warehousing, or building services sectors. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers, identifying operational requirements and recommending the most suitable industrial door and access solutions. Working closely with end users, contractors, architects, facilities managers, and project teams, you will undertake site visits, carry out surveys, provide technical guidance, prepare quotations, and manage opportunities through to successful project completion. This is a customer-facing role requiring regular travel across the Midlands, supported by our technical, estimating, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities across industrial, commercial, logistics, manufacturing, and public sector markets.
- Conduct site surveys and customer consultations to assess operational requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Provide technical product expertise across industrial doors, fire-rated timber fire doors, automatic entrances, loading bay equipment, gates, and barriers.
- Engage with facilities managers, building owners, contractors, consultants, and procurement teams.
- Identify opportunities for new installations, upgrades, replacements, and service contracts.
- Produce detailed quotations and proposals in collaboration with estimating and operations teams.
- Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
- Present technical solutions and product benefits to customers and stakeholders.
- Follow up quotations, negotiate commercial agreements, and secure orders.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and forecast opportunities through HubSpot CRM.
- Work collaboratively with installation, service, and project delivery teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments within the industrial door and access sector.
- Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, site visits, and industry events.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience within a technical sales, specification sales, or business development role.
- Knowledge of industrial doors, loading systems, automatic doors, access control, building products, construction products, or engineering solutions would be highly advantageous.
- Ability to understand technical specifications, site requirements, and customer operational needs.
- Experience conducting site surveys and developing tailored technical solutions.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage opportunities from enquiry to order.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from site managers to directors.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing a regional territory independently.
- Strong IT skills including CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with HubSpot and SAP Business One is desirable.
- Used to working to a number of key specific KPI’s.
- Full UK Driving Licence essential.
