Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30 (Will need to work Afternoons and Sundays as cover). ArrowXL is looking for a Planning Optimisation Manager to join our team. Based at our Worcester depot, you’ll be empowered to make a real impact within a supportive, collaborative environment where continuous improvement is encouraged. In this role, you will optimise vehicle routing across the network, monitor KPIs, ensure legal compliance, and work closely with Commercial, Operations, Sales and IT teams to deliver the most efficient and effective transport plan - while providing planning cover across trunking, first mile and final mile when required. What the role involves:
- Ensuring optimal routing of vehicles to meet customer requirements, legal compliance and organisational KPI’s
- Challenge sites on Plan versus Actual – Failures reasons and plans to reduce the gap
- Provide cover for annual leave for Network analysis Manager
- Identifying opportunities for efficiency, implementing data-driven strategies, and leading continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitoring KPIs (forecast accuracy, delivery, analysing performance, and reporting insights)
- Collaborating with Commercial, Sales, Operations, and IT teams to achieve the most efficient plan meeting targets for all areas
- Ensure integrity of orders in monitored and issues are dealt with throughout planning day
- Create and maintain Dashboard and KPI’s for trunk planning and review daily / weekly with Network control to ensure trunking efficiencies
- Updating transport systems accurately and in real time as and when changes occur
- Responding to internal enquiries regarding route capacity to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled to the highest possible standards
- Provide cover for both First and final mile planning
What we’re looking for:
- At least 2 years working in a busy transport operation within the traffic office
- Management experience preferable
- Experience working with a transport planning system
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of legal compliance regarding transport (working hours etc.)
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise activity
- Good communication and presentation skills essential
- Ability to manage all stakeholders
- Self-starter who is always looking for ways to improve the way we do things
- Ability to cope with rapid pace of change
- Can be relied upon to deliver to tight deadlines
