As the Regional Health and Safety Manager, you will lead the implementation of health and safety initiatives across the region, creating a culture of behavioural health and safety and ensuring the safety of colleagues, contractors, and customers in compliance with company standards and legal requirements. This is a highly influential role that demands close collaboration with Warehousing, Transport, and Central Support teams to embed a safety-first mindset and foster a strong behavioural safety culture across all operations.

You will act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance and hands-on support to regional teams to drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

  • Promote a safety-first mindset and strong behavioural safety culture through training, communication, and leading by example.
  • Ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety legislation by conducting audits, risk assessments, and thorough investigations of accidents and near-misses.
  • Recommend and implement risk-mitigation solutions while applying best practices to improve safety performance, support operational efficiency, and reduce absence.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety activities and incidents, ensuring timely reporting and preparing detailed reports for senior leadership.
  • Act as a key point of contact for health and safety across Warehousing, Transport, and Central Support, working closely with hub managers and other Regional H&S Managers to ensure a consistent approach.
  • Monitor safety metrics and use data to drive decision-making, improve processes, and act on feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Continuously develop your knowledge and skills to stay aligned with business priorities, minimising downtime and associated costs.

  • Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and best practice, with experience delivering H&S training (e.g., COSHH, Fire Marshal, Accident Investigation, Chemical Spill Kit, Drug and Alcohol Testing).
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and collaborative relationships at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities, comfortable managing multiple priorities within a small team.
  • Resilient and adaptable, with a focus on delivering results.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and Technical Member of IOSH; DGSA qualification desirable.
  • Familiarity with safety auditing and certification systems (e.g., iAuditor, RoSPA) and knowledge of safety culture management tools is advantageous.
