Purpose of the Role
The Production workflow optimisation Specialist is responsible for identifying, modelling, and delivering performance improvements across the Formula 1 team’s technical, operational, and organisational systems. Working at the intersection of data, engineering, and operations, the role ensures that opportunities are systematically identified, prioritised, and converted into measurable on-track and off-track performance advantages. This is a highly collaborative role that requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will partner with subject matter experts, engineers, and technicians to identify opportunity and deliver results whilst also mentoring colleagues, facilitating workshops, and driving a mindset of proactive improvement.
Principal Accountabilities
- Optimise performance and systems by identifying inefficiencies across car development, manufacturing, operations, and trackside execution, applying modelling, simulation, and statistical analysis to balance trade-offs such as lap time, reliability, cost cap, and risk.
- Develop data-led decision tools and analytical models to support strategy, prioritisation, and operational planning, delivering clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, embedding evidence-based problem-solving, tracking realised benefits, and ensuring improvements deliver long-term, measurable performance gains.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration by connecting technical and operational teams, challenging existing processes constructively using data and logic, and enabling more effective, aligned ways of working.
- Promote innovation and marginal gains, using structured methodologies and analytics to uncover new opportunities, enhance processes, and elevate overall organisational performance.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong analytical background (engineering, applied mathematics, physics, operations research or similar) with proven experience in optimisation, performance analysis, or complex systems improvement.
- Advanced data analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex insights into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-stakes environments, ideally with exposure to precision manufacturing or engineering processes.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and change-management principles (Green/Black Belt preferred), with a track record of leading improvement initiatives end-to-end.
- Highly organised, self-motivated and an effective communicator with strong attention to detail.
