Purpose of the Role

The purpose of the role is to support the Licensing Team in the day-to-day running of the department and key licensees. Key objectives of the role are to ensure fundamental tasks are completed across the licensing team, as well as supporting on product approvals, sample categorisation and purchase order management. The role will involve working with a wide variety of contacts at all levels - across the business internally with Marketing, Racing and Automotive and with License partners and suppliers.

Role Dimensions

Focus of the role is supporting the day-to-day operational fulfilment of key licensing partners and the licensing team administratively. Based at the McLaren Technology Centre, Woking, Surrey, UK. 12 Month FTC - Working hours are 9 – 6pm. Minimal international travel.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Manage the intake and distribution of samples across the business and manage the storage area for samples, ensuring pieces can be quickly identified and sourced.
  • Lead on key administrative tasks across the licensing team as required to support high performance nature of the team.
  • Support the Snr Manager and Licensing Team across a range of licensees to ensure successful product launches and 360 marketing activation which maximise returns and achieve KPIs by:
    • Ensuring licensees are using latest brand assets and have access to these.
    • Maintaining accurate and up to date documentation including: product critical paths, strategy roadmap documents, product launch calendars and range plans across all partners.
    • Weekly report management and updates.
    • Review Product submissions to ensure clear, accurate, detailed verbal and written direction and feedback is given to internal stakeholders, licensees / suppliers within the required timeframes, using the required system.
    • Support with internal team product requirements, gifting, product seeding and allocation of VIK.
    • Ability to carry out relevant market analysis, keeping up with trends and new product launches.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Be able to support the team across general admin such as purchase order raising, scheduling meetings and taking meeting notes as required.
  • A clear passion for product.
  • Good working knowledge of IT packages (e.g. MS Office suite).
  • Organised and capable of dealing with multiple workstreams, delivering them on time and to brief, to the expected standards, working across departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload and report proactively with rigour to immediate managers and business as needed.
  • Willingness to learn and develop an understanding of our licensing partners’ business drivers and strategies.
  • Knowledge of, and passion for the sports marketing and entertainment landscape.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written paying close attention to detail given frequent interaction with several stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English. Other languages would be an advantage.
