Purpose of the Role
As a Quality Control Inspector, you’ll ensure that composite, metallic, and tooling parts meet the highest standards before they move to the next stage of manufacture or build. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability, performance, and success of our race cars.
What You’ll Do
- Conducting the precise measurement and inspection of components across the race car build process.
- Measure and verify all required features of final race car parts prior to release.
- Inspect sub-components to ensure conformance before they move to the next operation.
- Checking tooling parts to confirm accuracy and readiness for continued use.
- Using a range of traditional and modern inspection methods within McLaren Racing’s measurement capability.
What You’ll Bring
- A fully indentured engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience in precision engineering.
- Proven experience in composite inspection and knowledge of composite manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience in an inspection environment using both modern and conventional measurement technology.
- Familiarity with systems such as PCDIMIS, Polyworks, VX Elements, GOM Inspect, Faro/Power Inspect (advantageous).
- Knowledge of GD&T required.
- Strong computer literacy, including experience working with an MRP system.
