Purpose of the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in multi-tasking machining. You’ll bring a process-driven mindset to developing turret lathes and next-gen turning centres, contributing to the build of our race cars and supporting components across the business. If you thrive on solving problems, driving performance, and delivering high-quality machining solutions from concept to completion—we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Embed best practices in programming, tooling, and process optimization.
- Drive DFM principles early in the design process, supporting scheming and concept reviews.
- Support material selection, forecasting, and procurement.
- Design stage models, drawings, jigs, fixtures, and bespoke tooling.
- Create CNC programs and setup sheets to meet right-first-time targets.
- Define manufacturing routings and methods for planning and budget control.
- Collaborate with machinists and process engineers to ease manufacture and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead quality concern resolution using tools like 8D, 5 Whys, and fishbone diagrams.
- Deliver manufacturing-based projects that enhance performance and sustainability.
Skills and Experience
- NVQ Level 4/5, HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, including DFM, cost control, and inspection planning.
- Skilled in offline programming and operating 3, 4, and 5-axis multi-tasking machining centres.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM systems and tool management.
- Experience with MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong project management and change management capabilities.
