The Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across the Scotland region. This is a field‑based role focused on developing new customer relationships, expanding market presence, and generating sustainable revenue through consultative, solution‑based selling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities across the Scotland region.
  • Building and managing a healthy sales pipeline through proactive market engagement and managing inbound enquiries.
  • Being proactive, developing new business from scratch.
  • Meeting prospective customers face‑to‑face to understand requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Managing the full sales cycle from initial engagement through quotation, negotiation, and close.
  • Developing relationships with key decision‑makers and stakeholders within target organisations.
  • Promoting Arrow Industrial Group’s full range of products and services to maximise the spend potential with each customer.
  • Following up on quotations and progressing opportunities to successful conclusion.
  • Maintaining and building existing relationships with key construction contractors, liaising to secure requests to tender.
  • Supporting marketing activity and converting campaign responses into new business.
  • Accurately maintaining CRM records within HubSpot to ensure visibility of pipeline activity.
  • Working closely with internal teams including operations, service, and estimating to ensure smooth onboarding of new customers.
  • Gathering market insight, competitor intelligence, and feedback to support continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in business development or field‑based B2B sales.
  • A consultative sales approach with clear evidence of winning new customers.
  • Experience in securing high‑value projects anywhere from £20K to £500K.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle and delivering against targets.
  • Self‑motivated and organised, with the ability to work independently in a regional role.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and MS Office; experience with HubSpot and SAP Business One is advantageous.
  • Commercially aware with a solutions‑focused mindset.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a dynamic sales environment.

  • Experience selling industrial products or services in a B2B market is desirable.
