Arrow Engineering Components Ltd are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Weekend XYZ ProtoTRAK Miller / Turner to join our expanding engineering team. This is NOT repetitive production machining. The role involves:

  • Emergency breakdown work
  • One-off and low-batch precision machining
  • Reverse engineering from samples
  • Repair and modification work
  • Problem-solving for food, packaging and process industries throughout Greater Manchester

We are looking for engineers who enjoy variety, thinking for themselves, and producing quality work under pressure.

PAY & SHIFT OPTIONS

  • OPTION 1 – 4 DAY WEEKEND SHIFT
    • Friday to Monday
    • 8:00am – 4:00pm
    • 37.5 hours per week
    • £39,000 per annum
  • OPTION 2 – 5 DAY SHIFT
    • Thursday to Monday
    • 8:00am – 4:00pm
    • 37.5 hours per week
    • £48,750 per annum

MACHINES & FACILITIES

You will be working on a wide variety of equipment including:

  • XYZ ProtoTRAK ProTURN lathes
  • XYZ ProtoTRAK RMX Bed Mills
  • Conventional manual machines
  • Slotting and keyseating equipment
  • Fabrication and welding equipment
  • Press brakes and general workshop machinery

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential:

  • Time-served engineer
  • Extensive XYZ ProtoTRAK turning and/or milling experience
  • Able to program, set and operate independently
  • Experience working from drawings, samples and sketches
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Experience within one-off or low-batch precision engineering

Advantageous:

  • Conventional machining experience
  • Breakdown engineering environment
  • Gear cutting / slotting / keyway work
  • Welding or fabrication experience
