Arrow Direct is a family run haulage company and we are employing HGV Drivers to work from our depot in Leicester. Arrow Direct delivers a wide range of products including Building Materials, Machinery, Paper products and Pallets throughout the UK.
We are looking for professional HGV Class C Drivers to join our team in Leicester, supporting a busy transport operation delivering to customers across the UK. This is a permanent opportunity offering full-time stability, a 5 day working week from Monday to Friday. You will be allocated your own vehicle, have the occasional night away and the chance to be part of a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliability and high standards are valued every day.
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday (Day shifts only)
Salary: Up to £35,000pa including bonuses.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
- The role includes delivery to a mix of Distribution Centres, Building Sites, Farms and Warehouses.
- Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
- Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
- Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
- Observe and adhere to site procedures at each delivery & collection point.
- Ensure regular communication with the Transport Office / Customer Services.
- Any other duties as reasonably required.
Qualifications:
- Possession of LGV Class C Licence and valid DCPC.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Adaptable and methodical approach to work/training.
- Conscientious and reliable.
- Professional and approachable.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines.
- Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
