The Role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer you’ll be working across the engineering teams supporting our effort in running and updating your infrastructure platform. We’re currently actively improving our processes and we’re looking for someone who has been there and done that to bring their input on what good infrastructure should look like. We’re working with industry standards: Terraform, migrating from CDK, AWS, ECS, GitHub Actions and more. We aim for a stable platform to make room for innovation. We’re also integrating into a bigger picture, Arrive Global Platform and this role’s natural transition is to work with large scale Kubernetes deployments and making our current platform in line with their standards.
About You
- Terraform & IaC: High proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure; basic familiarity with AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
- AWS Networking: Practical knowledge of VPC design, Global Accelerator, and Load Balancers (ALB/NLB).
- Containers: Experience running AWS ECS/Fargate now and Kubernetes for future setups.
- Traffic & Proxies: Understanding of NGINX, Envoy, and service meshes like Istio (Ambient).
- CI/CD: Building pipelines in GitHub Actions for blue/green rollouts and ephemeral environments.
- Databases & Search: Skills in managing and tuning Amazon RDS (MySQL/Postgres) and ElasticSearch/OpenSearch.
- Security & Identity: Setting up SSO using Amazon Cognito and AWS IAM Identity Center.
- App Hosting & Languages: Experience hosting various workloads (e.g., Go, Python, PHP).
- Cost Scaling: Handling AWS/GCP costs through Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and data cleanup rules.
