PSV Engineer Responsibilities

As a PSV Mechanic / Skilled PCV Engineer at Arriva Telford, you’ll play a key role in maintaining vehicle safety, reliability, and performance across our passenger transport fleet. Your duties will include:

  • Servicing, maintenance, and repair of PSV vehicles
  • Mechanical and electrical fault finding and diagnostics
  • MOT preparation and preventative maintenance inspections
  • Vehicle safety inspections and quality control checks
  • Roadside breakdown response and reactive repairs
  • Using modern diagnostic equipment and workshop technology
  • Working collaboratively within a skilled engineering team
  • Shift work including earlies, lates, and weekends (5 days out of 7)
What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this PSV Mechanic / PCV Engineer role, you should have:

  • Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in PSV, HGV, automotive or vehicle engineering
  • Experience as a PSV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Bus Engineer, or Vehicle Technician
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to work independently and follow engineering standards
  • Electrical systems knowledge (desirable but not essential)
  • PCV licence preferred — training can be provided
  • IRTEC accreditation welcomed
