About the Role

As our Recruitment Bus Driver Assessment Centre Coordinator, you will own the end‐to‐end coordination of bus driver assessment activity — before, during and after each Assessment Centre. You’ll be the friendly, reassuring voice candidates first hear, the welcoming face they meet on the day, and the trusted point of contact guiding them through to induction and start date. By attending every Bus Driver Assessment Centre in person, you’ll ensure a consistently positive, professional candidate experience while driving strong attendance, smooth delivery and fully compliant onboarding.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Engage with candidates ahead of Assessment Centres, conducting attendance‐check and confirmation calls to reconfirm timings, locations and requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout their assessment and onboarding journey.
  • Attend Assessment Centres in person, providing a warm welcome and setting clear expectations for the day.
  • Coordinate candidates through all assessment activities, including Literacy testing, Drug & alcohol testing, practical driving assessment and medicals.
  • Work closely with assessors, trainers and medical teams to ensure each centre runs smoothly, efficiently and to schedule.
  • Support candidates post‐assessment, communicating outcomes and guiding successful applicants through onboarding.
  • Check, chase and update DTS activity to keep candidate progress on track.
  • Collate and manage returned DVLA bus driver licences.
  • Collect, validate and organise all compliance documentation, including right‐to‐work checks, licences, medical results and assessment notes.
  • Ensure full compliance at all times.
  • Keep candidates engaged through regular check‐in calls, coordinating inductions and start dates.
  • Provide regular updates, attendance and pass data to the Talent Acquisition Business Partner.
  • Work collaboratively with the Training School to coordinate Assessment Centres and review outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A confident and approachable communicator who builds instant rapport.
  • Passionate about delivering a brilliant candidate experience.
  • Calm under pressure and comfortable coordinating live, multi‐stage assessment activity.
  • Proactive, solutions‐focused and able to adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Trustworthy and professional when handling sensitive personal and medical information.
  • A strong team player who enjoys working across recruitment, training and operational teams.
  • Comfortable travelling to and attending multiple Assessment Centre locations as required.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive salary & Oyster card.
  • Be at the heart of a visible, people‐focused recruitment journey to shape a positive candidate experience.
  • Enjoy a varied, sociable role with real purpose and impact.
  • Work closely with passionate recruitment and training professionals.
