We are now looking for a talented Technician with PSV or HGV experience to join our Bangor engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge who wants to apply their skills within a professional engineering environment, supporting the safety, performance and reliability of our fleet.
What you will be doing
- Carrying out repairs, diagnostics and system maintenance across a variety of vehicles.
- Diagnosing and repairing faults on PSV, HGV and Light Goods Vehicles.
- Carrying out routine electrical inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Installing, repairing and replacing electrical components such as wiring looms, alternators, starter motors, batteries, lighting systems, climate control units and infotainment systems.
- Using diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues.
- Ensuring all repairs follow manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
- Completing accurate and timely reports on work carried out.
- Working alongside mechanics, technicians and engineers within a collaborative depot environment.
- Keeping up to date with new and emerging vehicle electrical technologies, including hybrid and electric systems.
- Participating in overtime and on-call rotas when required.
What we are looking for
Essential:
- A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in Vehicle Electrical or Electronic Systems (or equivalent).
- Hands-on electrical experience with PSV, HGV or Light Vehicle fleets.
- Strong diagnostic capability and confidence working with wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Full UK driving licence. Cat D (PCV) is desirable, or willingness to obtain through our in-house training.
- Good understanding of electrical safety and compliance in vehicle environments.
Desirable:
- Experience with hybrid or electric vehicle systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and teamwork ability.
