Are you a fully qualified train driver with at least 3 years productive train driving experience who holds a European Train Driving License? If so then, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Here at CrossCountry Trains we bring more of Britain together than any other train operator. Covering around 1,400 miles and calling at over 100 stations from Aberdeen to Penzance, it is the most extensive rail network in the UK.

  • £65,402pa for experienced drivers without core routes and traction
  • £71,367pa with core routes and traction
  • £77,334pa after 1 years’ service

Our train drivers are at the heart of our operation! Our Train Drivers don’t just drive our trains, they are the technical and operations specialists within our teams that deliver the highest standards of on-train service expected by our customers. Priding ourselves on safety and customer service we are looking for individuals with an excellent safety record, solid train driving experience, a passion for the rail industry and delivering an on-time service for our passengers.

Here at CrossCountry we work a variety of different shifts so flexibility is required and lodging may be needed. You must live within 1 hour’s commute of Cambridge and be able to travel at unsocial hours reliably due to the shiftwork involved. There is no restriction on eligibility for applications except that drivers may not apply until they have occupied their present post for 3 years following completion of training, including examination and route learning.

This is a safety critical post so you will also be required to undertake a full medical examination & substance abuse screening and a DBS check.
