Overview
Arriva is seeking an experienced and ambitious PSV Engineer/Mechanic (Afternoon Shift) to join our garage, reporting to the Engineering Manager at the Heckmondwike Depot. The role involves maintaining the fleet of PCV vehicles to Arriva standards.
Responsibilities
- Servicing and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards
- Continuous improvement of vehicle standards
- MOT preparation
- Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva standards
Requirements
- Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with recognised qualifications (e.g., Level 3 NVQ)
- Ability to work safely and unsupervised to pre-set standards and guidelines
- Electrical knowledge is desirable but not essential
- A PCV licence is desirable but not essential
- Inspection of vehicles for scheduled maintenance (training can be provided), IRTEC accreditation favourable
Shift and Pay
Shifts are 5/7 and will involve afternoon shifts (to be discussed at interview). Salary: £16.27 per hour (overtime available at enhanced rate).
