Our cleaners play a vital role in ensuring the CrossCountry fleet is always clean, safe, and welcoming for our customers. We are currently looking to recruit a Train Cleaner, based at Reading, to join our team.

About the Role:

As an On Board Cleaner working on board our services, you’ll be a visible and valued member of staff. While your primary responsibility will be to maintain the cleanliness of our trains, customers may approach you with questions about train times, connections, or general travel queries. That’s why we're looking for someone who is not only thorough and reliable, but also friendly, approachable, and willing to help.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean all areas of the train’s interior, including:
    • Litter picking
    • Wiping down tables, seats, and surfaces
    • Ensuring toilet facilities are hygienic and fully stocked
  • Work as part of a team to maintain high cleanliness standards across the fleet
  • Represent CrossCountry in a professional and customer-friendly manner

About You:

  • A team player with a proactive attitude
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible
  • Comfortable working early mornings, evenings, and weekends as part of a rota
  • Confident interacting with the public and answering basic travel queries
