Arriva London is seeking a high-calibre Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of safety performance across our East and South London operations. The RoleAs Health & Safety Manager, you will champion and embed the UK Bus Health & Safety Management System across multiple garages and operational sites. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and frontline teams to ensure safety is not just compliant — but proactive, embedded, and continuously improving.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert, authoritative H&S advice across the business
- Develop and implement site-specific safety management plans
- Conduct audits, inspections, and site visits to drive standards
- Interpret legislation and turn it into practical, actionable guidance
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis (including RIDDOR)
- Ensure full statutory compliance across all sites
- Deliver insightful performance reports to senior leadership
- Oversee training programmes and inductions
- Chair health, safety & environmental meetings
- Drive clear, engaging safety communication across the organisation
You’re confident, credible, and not afraid to challenge. You know how to influence at all levels and bring people with you.
Essential:- NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) or equivalent – completed
- Proven experience in a multi-site, high-risk environment
- Strong leadership and stakeholder influencing skills
- Ability to drive change and deliver results
- IOSH Membership (Chartered or working towards)
