Business Analyst – Workday HCM Optimisation & Transformation
We are Arriva
Arriva is one of Europe’s leading passenger transport partners, delivering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions. As we continue our HR transformation journey, we’re investing in Workday to create a more efficient, standardised and people-focused experience for our colleagues.
We’re looking for a talented Business Analyst on a fixed term basis to help drive this transformation forward.
The Role
As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in optimising and transforming HR processes enabled by Workday HCM. Partnering closely with the Business Architect and HR stakeholders, you’ll analyse, redesign and standardise processes across the full employee lifecycle.
You’ll act as a critical bridge between the business and delivery teams—ensuring requirements are clear, solutions are aligned to best practice, and we maximise the value of Workday.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Map current (As-Is) and future (To-Be) HR processes across the employee lifecycle
- Identify inefficiencies, duplication and manual activity, driving simplification
- Ensure processes are designed end-to-end across HR, employees, managers and wider functions (e.g. IT)
- Gather, analyse and document business requirements across key HR areas
- Translate requirements into clear, structured solutions aligned with Workday functionality
- Promote standardisation and challenge non-standard or legacy practices
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to validate requirements and designs
- Identify opportunities for automation, self-service and digital enablement
- Support testing, deployment and business readiness activities
- Contribute to post go-live optimisation and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Workday HCM transformation or optimisation programmes
- Strong working knowledge of Workday modules such as Core HCM, Recruiting, Talent & Performance, Learning and Compensation
- Solid understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle (hire-to-retire)
- Experience in end-to-end process mapping and redesign
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information
Desirable:
- Experience in global HR transformation or shared services environments
- Understanding of HR operating models and service delivery frameworks
- Familiarity with HR data and reporting
