Pay Rate: £14.00 – £16.00 per hour. Progress your bus driving career with Arriva at our Wakefield depot. As a Bus Driver, you will transport passengers safely, provide excellent customer service, and build positive relationships with regular commuters, shoppers, and school children. You will be the highlight of someone’s day and represent Arriva’s commitment to community and safety.

Hours of Work: Rotating shift patterns: 5 out of 7 days. Mornings start at 04:00, afternoons at 12:00, and evenings at 18:00. Schedules are planned 6–8 weeks in advance to allow you to plan your life. Overtime is available upon request.

Pay Details: During the first 6 months of probation, pay is £14.00 per hour. After successful completion of probation, pay increases to £16.00 per hour. Pay rates are reviewed via frequent pay negotiations.

Qualifications:

  • Must be over 18 years old.
  • Hold a valid PCV licence.
  • Have no more than 6 points on your licence.
  • Pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • Demonstrate strong people and customer‑service skills.
  • Be flexible to work rotating shifts.
  • Have at least 1 year of recent PCV experience (within the last 5 years).
