Arriva Bus Driver – Heckmondwike depot. Drive buses transporting commuters, customers, and school children to their destinations on a rotating shift pattern.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, reliable transportation for passengers.
  • Operate the bus in accordance with all traffic laws and company policy.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct that supports our customer‑centric service.
  • Use the mydrive app for check‑in and route management.

Schedule & Hours

Rotating shift pattern (5 of 7). Mornings start from 04:00, Afternoons from 12:00, Evenings from 18:00. Minimum pay guarantees 36 hours even if a shift finishes early; overtime opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • Age 18 or older.
  • Valid driving licence with a minimum of 6 months driving experience.
  • No more than 6 points on the licence.
  • Successful completion of a drug and alcohol test.
  • Excellent people skills and flexibility for early‑morning or late‑night starts.

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay rate: £13.75 per hour during training (~8 weeks); £14.00 per hour during the 6‑month probation period; £16.00 per hour after successful probation completion. Pay is reviewed through frequent negotiations.
  • Full CPC training, completed at the start of the role.
  • Overtime opportunities and minimum payment for 36 hours per week.
