This is a key leadership role where you’ll ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of our fleet while shaping the future of our engineering strategy.

The Role

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll take ownership of fleet maintenance and workshop operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You’ll lead a skilled team, manage budgets, and deliver on key performance indicators (KPIs), all while driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency. This is an opportunity to make a real impact – optimising fleet reliability, motivating teams, and supporting Arriva’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, and sustainable transport.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong engineering background, ideally in the bus or HGV sector.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing budgets, operations, and forecasting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of fleet management, workshop operations, shift planning, and payroll.
