We are looking for experienced and ambitious Skilled Shift PSV Mechanic to join Arriva, based at our Southend depot.

As a PSV Engineer, your role would involve carrying out planned and preventative maintenance along with diagnostic fault finding and reactive repairs to a fleet of commercially operated buses & coaches, to the strict standards set by both Arriva and the DVSA.

  • £22 per hour
  • 40 hours per week on shifts between 5am and Midnight, 5 days out of 7.
  • Overtime at time plus ½ for all additional hours worked over the working week.

The role of a PSV Mechanic will involve:

  • Servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
  • Continuous improvement of vehicle reliability.
  • MOT preparation, planned preventative maintenance campaigns and quality checks.
  • Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA).
  • Early/Day shift rota covering 5 out of 7 days Sunday to Saturday working with shift start patterns: Day Shift: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Late Shift 2:00pm – 10:00pm.

Requirements of a PSV Mechanic:

  • Qualifications for PSV/HGV maintenance and repair – Minimum of NVQ level 3 or any equivalent international qualification (will require confirmation).
  • A full UK driving licence (6 points or less).
  • Ability to be passed fit for a PCV pre-employment medical.
